We are looking to recruit General Labourers across the business where the ideal candidates would enjoy physically intensive tasks such as lifting and bagging heavy materials, as well as other general operative duties in a busy fast paced environment. 

The role will require:

  • Good communication, where you will be working closely with other colleagues with a team focus. 
  • Self-motivation, where you may have to take on a range of different tasks to support the team,  
  • A strong team work ethic and a positive attitude, as a fast-paced environment there can be challenges so being able to remain positive is essential. 

Whilst it would be ideal for you to have previous experience in a fast-paced factory/ labouring environment, this is not essential, and you will be supported throughout your time at Ashwood.  If you are looking for a permanent position with a reliable and committed employer, who also rewards committed and reliable employees through regular bonuses, this could be the role for you. Salary – Starting from £19,000 per year

We are excited to be recruiting for the role of CAD Design Technician, where you will be part of a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with our design engineers, to understand the requirements of their initial design, to then transform them into digitised accurate drawings. With a detail orientated approach, the drawings you create will be issued throughout all stages of a project, from estimating costs and feasibility to creating the blueprint for the manufacturing instructions for model introduction.

  • In order to join the team, it is essential for you to have knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, and to be able to use Computer-Aided software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, and ideally Gerber and Lectra.
  • This is a hands-on role, where you will be working with a dynamic team, where a positive attitude and a great team work ethic is critical. You will also need excellent attention to detail, where you will be creating intricate fabric patterns using the CAD technology, to create cutting templates that will be transferred through to another department to cut.
  • You will also have the opportunity to work with new development products and liaise effectively with development upholsterers to produce fully detailed model designs, as well as creating BOM using the in-house parts management software.

Whilst it would be ideal for you to have experience of the furniture industry, this is not essential, and we will provide you with plenty of training and development opportunities to progress your career at Ashwood. You will be joining us at an exciting time where we plan on growing our workforce and are currently involved in a range of new projects and opportunities. 

Salary – £8.91 to £14 per hour

We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our upholstery team. The upholsterer role is an essential component in producing furniture efficiently and effectively to our customers. The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience
  • The desire to work in a fast-paced furniture manufacturing environment
  • Takes pride in what they do, and have a ‘right first time’ mentality
  • Great communication skills, where they have the ability to work as a team and on their own initiative.
  • A Flexible approach in order to meet production performance requirements.
  • Embraces a diverse range of operational tasks and shows flexibility to use your skills to support the business needs.

Whilst ideally we are looking for experienced upholsterers, we will consider individuals that have worked within a manufacturing/furniture environment previously and are looking to develop new skills. One of our missions is to grow our workforce organically and to provide our employees with a high degree of support and progression.

 

£8.91 – £14 per hour 

The sewing machinist role is fundamental to the production process, and in joining the current team your role will involve sewing a variety of models including piped and non-piped fixed covers in different fabrics and velvet, working from a sewing specification. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Upholstery Sewing Machinist
  • Experience using industrial flatbed sewing machines with walking feet.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • High degree of compliance to company policies and procedures including health and safety and quality standards.

Whilst ideally, we are looking for experienced sewing machinists, we will consider individuals that have worked within a manufacturing/furniture environment previously and are looking to develop new skills.
